Why I Don't Believe in Day-of Coordination (and What I Do Instead)

Here's the thing about the name: your wedding day doesn't start on your wedding day.

By the time a "day-of coordinator" arrives, the timeline is set, the vendors have their instructions, and the décor plan exists. Someone has to make sure all of it still works, and that's hard to do when you meet the details for the first time that morning.

I'd rather already know your plans, your people, and your venue by then.

What I do instead

I call it wedding management. It's the same calm presence on the day, with the work happening in the weeks before it. In the weeks leading up to your wedding, I get to know your vision, review your vendor details, and build a timeline that actually fits your venue and your people.

On the day, I'm overseeing the parts that make it feel effortless:

  • Your timeline, start to finish

  • Vendor arrivals and flow

  • Décor placement

  • Ceremony cueing and reception flow

  • The small problems you never hear about

When something shifts (and something always shifts), I already know the plan well enough to adjust without you ever noticing.

Décor, from setup to pack-up

If your day includes pieces from the Something Borrowed collection, I plan the placement with you ahead of time, oversee the setup so it looks the way you pictured, and pack up your small décor pieces at the end of the night.

What it isn't

I want to be clear about scope, because it protects your experience. Wedding management means I'm running the logistics, not doing the labor. Full venue cleanup, trash removal, moving tables and chairs, food service, bussing, and bar support aren't automatically included. They're available with added staffing, and I'm happy to help you plan for them. Small décor pack-up is included.

Is this right for you?

If you want someone who has been in your corner before the wedding day, and who keeps it running while you enjoy it, wedding management is for you.

I work with couples across Grass Valley, Nevada City, Nevada County, the Sierra Foothills, Truckee, and North Lake Tahoe.
